Notes From Underground was my third Dostoevsky novel(Crime and Punishment and The Idiot prior). It’s listed as one of the main influences on the Taxi Driver script. If you haven’t read any novels by him yet this is a really short one and a good place to start. Pevear and Volokhonsky put out great translations of his work.
